Heroic Firefighters Save Life of Motorist Trapped in Rollover Semi-Truck on I-40
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — A dramatic rescue unfolded early Saturday morning when Flagstaff fire crews extricated a person trapped in a semi-truck after a rollover accident on I-40 eastbound at the Walnut Canyon exit, near milepost 204.
According to the Flagstaff Fire Department, the truck was leaking diesel fuel. Firefighters acted swiftly to prevent any potential fire from igniting during their response.
“Fire crews quickly deployed a protection line to mitigate any fire risk while assessing the situation,” the fire department explained in a statement.
Using specialized tools, rescue teams cut through the truck’s roof to free the occupant, who was reported to be alert and breathing. The individual was subsequently transported to a hospital for evaluation.
This incident highlights the quick and effective response of emergency services in potentially hazardous situations.
