Heroic Efforts: 3 Fire Departments Unite Against MCG Brushfire Blaze

Firefighters from Maricopa, Goodyear, and Ak-Chin battled a brushfire near the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway this morning. The fire, located approximately 100 yards south of city limits, was reported at 9:25 a.m. between Hartman and Murphy Roads, according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch.
Responding teams utilized mutual aid agreements to coordinate their efforts effectively. The Ak-Chin Fire Department has established partnerships with both Maricopa and Goodyear Fire Departments, enabling rapid response and resource sharing. “We’re part of Phoenix Mutual Aid, so if we’re on a call, they might be dispatched to us,” explained Maricopa Fire and Medical Department spokesperson Monica Williams.
By 10:15 a.m., firefighters had successfully extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with further inquiries directed to Williams from InMaricopa.
This incident underscores the importance of collaboration among neighboring fire departments when responding to emergencies, enhancing community safety in the region.
