Heritage District Collision Leads to Dramatic Rescue and Hospitalization

On January 15, 2025, a collision occurred in Maricopa’s Heritage District, resulting in one person being hospitalized. The incident took place around 11:15 a.m. when two sedans collided at the intersection of Maricopa Road and Garvey Avenue, causing a temporary blockage of northbound traffic.

Emergency responders from the Maricopa Fire/Medical Department arrived at the scene to assist. The force of the crash left one car door pinned shut, necessitating the extrication of a passenger. According to public safety spokesperson Monica Williams, the injured passenger was transported to a local hospital and may have a broken bone, although their injuries were classified as minor.
