Heritage art teacher gets free coffee for a year

A Maricopa art teacher received a delightful surprise on Thursday. Carlos Jimenez, who teaches at Heritage Academy, was rewarded with free coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts for an entire year.

In addition to the coffee, Dunkin’ provided custom donuts and hosted an in-classroom party. Munchkins were served to the students, while coffee was offered to the teachers.

Dunkin’ of Phoenix recognized Jimenez for his dedication to his students and his impressive journey in the America’s Favorite Teacher competition earlier this year. According to the press release, this award highlights educators who make a significant impact on students’ lives.

Jimenez notably advanced to the quarterfinals in the national competition, placing second in his group amid thousands of educators across the country. When asked about the potential $25,000 prize, he expressed intentions to use it for student support, ensuring they had enough food, classroom supplies, and warm jackets during winter.

“For seven years, Mr. Jimenez has inspired and fueled the minds of young students,” Dunkin’ stated. “Now, we are proud to return the favor with a well-deserved thank you and the fuel to keep him running as he continues to shape the next generation.”
