PHOENIX — Thunderstorm activity is expected this afternoon and evening, primarily affecting the higher terrain areas of eastern Arizona. However, as drier air moves in for the latter part of the week, monsoonal activity will significantly decrease, even in these elevated regions. A slight increase in moisture is anticipated over the weekend, which may lead to a minor uptick in storm activity.
Temperatures across the state are predicted to remain steady and above normal throughout the weekend. Residents should prepare for a streak of temperatures hitting the 100s in the upcoming seven-day forecast.
