Pinal County health inspectors conducted a series of inspections at eight schools and two restaurants this month, all of which earned an ‘excellent’ rating. The inspections took place between December 1 and December 13, covering establishments such as Desert Wind Middle School and Maricopa High School.

Specifically, the inspections included Maricopa Wells Middle School, Maricopa High School, Santa Cruz Elementary, and Denny’s. After these visits, inspectors returned to evaluate Saddleback Elementary, Santa Rosa Elementary, Desert Wind Middle School, A+ Charter Schools, and Panda Express.

All ten locations successfully met health standards, with inspectors reporting no violations. This achievement highlights the commitment to food safety and hygiene among these establishments.

Understanding the rating system is crucial for consumers. An “excellent” rating indicates full compliance with priority standards. Meanwhile, a “satisfactory” rating occurs when one or more standards are not in compliance but are corrected during the inspection. A “needs improvement” rating signifies that some violations exist and are not immediately corrected. The lowest rating, “unacceptable,” is reserved for conditions that pose an imminent health hazard, such as unsanitary conditions or the presence of toxic substances.
