Evangeline White, 40, was arrested at her home in Maricopa on September 6, 2024, under charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This incident arose from an altercation that reportedly occurred on August 16.
The Maricopa Police Department responded to a call at White’s Crestview Lane residence around 8:30 p.m., where they discovered her with an unidentified male. According to law enforcement, the nature of their relationship was not disclosed.
In the statement provided to the police, White claimed that during the August incident, she averted aggression by rubbing a knife against the man’s leg and foot as he lay in bed. She asserted that this action was a defensive measure after he allegedly attempted to punch her when he got out of bed.
During their investigation, officers reviewed video footage from the incident. The recording depicted White making a jabbing motion with the knife. The man reported a puncture wound to his foot, though officers were unable to verify any injury due to the time elapsed since the incident.
As a result of the evidence collected, including the video and the victim’s testimony, police took White into custody. She was booked into the Pinal County jail, facing felony charges. Should she be convicted in Maricopa Municipal Court, White faces a prison sentence ranging from a minimum of seven to a maximum of 21 years, with no eligibility for probation under Arizona law.
