Havasu Set to Unveil New VA Clinic This December

Lake Havasu City is preparing for the opening of its new VA Clinic, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony set for December 4. This event marks a significant milestone for local veterans, as the clinic is scheduled to become fully operational by late December.
Max Efrein, a public affairs officer with Northern Arizona VA Health Care, detailed the agenda for the opening event. It will feature a posting of the colors by a local veteran service organization, a blessing by a chaplain, speeches from healthcare leadership, and guided tours of the new facility. Informational tables will also provide insights into the services available.
The new clinic will be substantially larger than the current location, which is situated at 2035 Mesquite Ave. With a footprint three times bigger, it will house five primary care teams—initially, each serving around 900 veterans. Efrein noted that the design allows for expansion, potentially accommodating up to ten teams in the future.
Improvements extend beyond primary care; mental health and women’s health services will see significant enhancements. A dedicated mental health suite will feature rooms for both individual and group counseling, alongside two women’s health exam rooms and a lactation room for new mothers.
Innovations in patient care are also a priority. The clinic will incorporate five virtual telehealth stations, enabling remote consultations with specialists across various fields, including mental health and endocrinology.
The opening event is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the new clinic’s location, 145 Park Ave. As the community gears up for this launch, local veterans can look forward to improved healthcare services tailored to their unique needs.
