Havasu school board, congressional candidates to make appearance at local forum

Lake Havasu City is set to host a significant candidate forum on Wednesday, featuring six of the seven candidates for the Lake Havasu Unified School District board. The event, organized by the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce, Today’s News-Herald, and KNTR Radio Central, offers local residents a platform to engage with the candidates.

Joe Bill Thomas, one of the candidates, will be unable to attend due to travel commitments, according to Andrea Helart, president and CEO of the chamber. The remaining candidates—Mike Kurn, Vijette Saari, Kyle Neidermann, David Rose, Evelyn Tinsley, and Matthew Houston—are confirmed to participate.

This forum provides an essential opportunity for voters to understand the views and priorities of candidates seeking to shape local education policies. In addition to school board candidates, those running for U.S. House District 9 will also be present to introduce themselves and outline their platforms.

Attendees will have the chance to engage with the congressional candidates after their brief presentations. The event is scheduled for October 16, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Lake Havasu High School Performing Arts Center, located at 2675 S. Palo Verde Boulevard. Following the forum, the public is invited to meet the candidates in the upper hallway between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
