Havasu Police Arrest Woman Following Knife Incident at Bridgewater Channel

A woman from Lake Havasu City is in custody following an incident earlier this month involving a knife on the Bridgewater Channel. Jessica M. Villarreal, 38, was accused of threatening behavior during a heated argument.
On August 17, police received reports of Villarreal, clad in a black bathing suit, screaming at bystanders while brandishing a knife. Responding officers quickly identified her based on previous encounters with law enforcement, as she was already known for multiple arrests.
Authorities stated that Villarreal had been living a transient lifestyle near Rotary Park and frequently carried a knife. Additionally, she was a suspect in a recent misdemeanor assault case from August 14.
Witnesses alleged that Villarreal may have been intoxicated during the altercation. Upon learning that police were called, she reportedly became agitated and concealed her knife.
When officers located her at the channel, the area was bustling with approximately 100 beachgoers. Villarreal claimed that she reacted to a nearby boater who almost collided with her. She denied waving the knife, asserting that she was merely adjusting her bathing suit.
Witness accounts indicated that her conduct was erratic, as she screamed, paced, and gestured wildly while conversing with police.
Villarreal was arrested for the August 14 incident, where she allegedly pursued a victim at Rotary Park Beach, making threats while filming the encounter. Witnesses at the scene supported the claims reported to dispatchers.
She has been charged with one felony count of disorderly conduct with a weapon, along with misdemeanor charges related to the earlier incident. Current judicial records indicate that Villarreal has yet to be arraigned on her felony charges and remains in Mohave County Jail with a $300 bond.
