Havasu Man Strikes Plea Deal in Court Drama

A Lake Havasu City man has accepted a plea agreement that mandates a prison sentence following a violent incident involving a child and domestic conflict. The event, which took place on August 2 at a home on Big Chief Drive, escalated quickly, leading to serious legal consequences.
During a hearing on August 22, Deputy Mohave County Attorney Aaron Smith detailed the situation, stating that 36-year-old Anthony Noriega was involved in a dispute with his wife. In an attempt to intervene, a 12-year-old boy jumped on Noriega’s back. In a reactive move, Noriega reportedly shrugged off the boy, causing him to fall and damage closet space.
As the altercation continued outside, Noriega pushed the child to the ground, prompting legal action. Judge Doug Camacho reviewed the case and confirmed the plea agreement, which results in a conviction for child abuse.
Under the terms of this agreement, Noriega is scheduled for sentencing on September 12, where it is expected he will receive a nine-month prison term.
