Havasu man shot by officers now awaiting return to Mohave County

A Lake Havasu City man has been in recovery at a Phoenix facility for the last four months following an armed encounter with police. Justin J. Allen, 27, is nearing a return to face felony charges in Mohave County now that his injuries have healed.

The incident occurred on June 10, when officers were called to address disturbances allegedly caused by Allen. Law enforcement found him armed with a shotgun, leading to a confrontation that resulted in the officer shooting him multiple times.

Allen was initially taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center in critical condition before being transferred to a Phoenix hospital, where he remained until last week. After his release, authorities executed a warrant for his arrest related to aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer.

Bullhead City Police, who assumed responsibility for the case, confirmed Allen is currently in custody at the Maricopa County Jail. His extradition to Mohave County is pending, and court records indicate he will be held on a preliminary bond of $50,000 upon his arrival.

This incident marks a troubling pattern, as neighbors have reported disturbances attributed to Allen in the past. On the day of the shooting, several complaints included alarming threats made against nearby homes.
