Havasu Man Faces Trial for Allegedly Hoarding Over 20 Child Pornography Files
A resident of Lake Havasu City, 57-year-old Brian C. Hasler, is facing serious allegations after being accused of uploading over 20 files of child sexual abuse to an online storage service. His court appearance is scheduled for next week.
Between February and April 2023, an electronic service provider reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children that 23 files containing child pornography had been uploaded. Investigators traced these uploads to Hasler’s mobile phone.
The center relayed this information to the Lake Havasu City Police Department, which quickly identified Hasler’s home address and vehicle registration. Initial investigations revealed that he resided with his parents on Oceanic Lane in Havasu.
Authorities struggled to locate Hasler until September 10, when a warrant was issued to track his mobile phone. Following the lead, police found him at a residence on the 3400 block of Arnold Palmer Drive and took him into custody.
Hasler was booked at the Lake Havasu City Police Department on ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. He cooperated with investigators, agreeing to discuss the charges against him.
During an interview with police detectives, Hasler admitted to having watched child pornography but denied downloading it. He mentioned that one website he accessed featured live videos involving potential sexual acts with children for a fee.
Even on the morning of his arrest, Hasler acknowledged his phone might still contain child pornography. He willingly provided investigators with the code to unlock his device, and did not ask for legal representation during questioning.
Hasler was arraigned in Mohave Superior Court on September 30. His next court appearance is scheduled for an October 28 pretrial conference.
