Havasu K-9 Uncovers $70,000 Fentanyl Cache as Alleged Drug Dealer Charged with Felonies

Police in Lake Havasu City made a significant drug bust last week, uncovering a substantial stash of fentanyl valued at $70,000 during a routine traffic stop. The incident resulted in a felony drug arrest.
This arrest is part of a broader investigation led by local law enforcement into the suspected distribution of fentanyl in Havasu. On September 19, officers stopped 46-year-old James F. Krantz on the 2100 block of McCulloch Boulevard.
When police brought in K-9 unit “Echo,” the dog quickly alerted them to the presence of narcotics in Krantz’s vehicle. Following the alert, detectives conducted a thorough search.
During the search, authorities discovered approximately 11,000 suspected fentanyl pills, alongside a usable amount of methamphetamine and several pieces of drug paraphernalia. Krantz was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of narcotic drugs with intent to sell, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following his arrest, Krantz was held on a cash bond of $50,000 and transferred to the Mohave County Sheriff’s custody. Court documents indicate that his case was filed in Lake Havasu Justice Court on Friday. As of Monday afternoon, a felony indictment from Mohave County prosecutors was still pending.
