Havasu Driver Slapped with Felony Charges in Violent Road Rage Clash

A Lake Havasu City man is set to face felony charges in Mohave Superior Court following an alleged road rage incident. The confrontation involved the suspect, identified as 64-year-old Phillip W. Caddy, wielding a metal pipe.
Police responded to a disorderly conduct call at around 11 p.m. on July 27. The incident occurred near Rainbow Avenue and Knobhill Drive. According to reports, the confrontation began after an erratically driven white Chevrolet truck brake-checked another vehicle without any apparent reason.
The reporting party mentioned they had just left Windsor Beach and were heading to a restaurant via North Acoma Boulevard when the Chevrolet truck began its erratic behavior. The truck turned off onto another road, only to reappear later and attempt a “T-bone” maneuver on the reporting party’s vehicle.
To avoid a collision, the driver employed evasive measures. Following this, the Chevrolet truck allegedly swerved in front of them, stopped, and blocked their path. Caddy then exited his vehicle, shouting profanities at the occupants of the other car.
According to police, Caddy retrieved a metal pipe from his truck bed and swung it at the victim. In self-defense, the victim managed to disarm Caddy and told him to get back into his vehicle.
Despite this, Caddy reversed his truck into the victim’s vehicle before eventually driving away. Multiple witnesses corroborated the account given by the reporting party, leading officers to Caddy’s home for questioning.
Caddy denied causing a disturbance, insisting that the other vehicle had been tailgating him, prompting him to stop. He claimed that he was assaulted by multiple individuals, though officers found no injuries consistent with being punched. Instead, his injuries suggested a fall.
Officers arrested Caddy, booking him on charges including aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, and reckless driving. He was released on a $2,500 bond on August 2 and is scheduled for arraignment this Thursday in Mohave Superior Court.
