99 Cents Only Store
Harbor Freight Unveils Its Bold Choice: Why Maricopa is the Destination

Harbor Freight Tools has announced plans to open a new store in Maricopa by the end of 2023. This decision comes as the company recognizes the potential of the local market, as explained by spokesperson Donna Walker.
The California-based retailer intends to offer a variety of products, including power tools and generators, at competitive prices. The new location will be situated near John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road, with a scheduled opening in December.
Harbor Freight will occupy the former 99 Cents Only store, which encompasses 15,000 square feet. This space is notably smaller than the garden center of a Home Depot set to open nearby in two weeks. However, Walker emphasized that size isn’t everything, stating that similar locations allow easier navigation for customers.
“A size like that means it’s easier to browse,” she said. “People can find what they need and get out to their job site faster.” The chosen location offers great visibility, ample parking, and the right dimensions for their operations.
Currently, the nearest Harbor Freight is about 20 miles away in Casa Grande. The Maricopa store aims to tap into a local labor pool, seeking to hire between 25 to 30 employees. Walker noted that interested applicants can submit their applications through Harbor Freight’s official website.
