Congressman Abraham Hamadeh (R-AZ-08) has predicted that Arizona Democrats would challenge President Trump’s Executive Order 14248, aimed at enhancing election integrity. He characterized the Democrats as “the beneficiaries of Arizona’s broken election system,” emphasizing the ongoing political divide regarding electoral processes.

In response to the intentions expressed by Arizona Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, Hamadeh’s office criticized their efforts, saying they will “go to any lengths to keep our elections processes broken.” Alongside Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-NY-24), who chairs the Congressional Election Integrity Caucus, Hamadeh has proposed legislation designed to align with the President’s election integrity agenda.

Rep. Tenney recently highlighted the significance of Trump’s Executive Order, which seeks to prevent noncitizens from voting and eliminate potential voter fraud. She expressed optimism about their proposed legislation, aiming to transform the order into law to safeguard electoral fairness.

“The American people deserve better. They deserve to know that their legally cast ballot is counted and accounted for,” Hamadeh stated. He expressed disappointment regarding the actions of Mayes and Fontes, linking their opposition to broader concerns about election integrity. “As a trusted advisor once said, ‘election integrity never disenfranchised a single soul, but a single act of election fraud disenfranchises us all,’” he added.

The legislative proposal, known as H.R. 2499, would mandate proof of citizenship through government-issued ID on voter registration forms, along with granting federal databases access to states for verifying voter eligibility. Additionally, it calls for a single deadline for vote tabulation on Election Day. Non-compliance could result in withdrawn federal funding, representing significant implications for state election administrations. Hamadeh remarked on the challenges posed by mismanaged voter rolls, emphasizing the need for comprehensive election integrity measures to rebuild public trust.
