The Closing Ceremony of the Paris Olympics will feature the official handover to the Los Angeles Summer Games in 2028.

PARIS, France — H.E.R. is set to perform at the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony, marking a significant moment in the musical landscape of the games.

The five-time Grammy winner will sing the U.S. national anthem live at Stade de France as part of the handover to the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Games.

H.E.R., a multi-talented artist, has won accolades including an Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy. Her Grammy for song of the year in 2021 was awarded for her protest anthem “I Can’t Breathe.”

In the same year, she secured an Academy Award for best original song for “Fight for You” from “Judas and the Black Messiah.” Both songs were co-written by her. The artist also contributed to the Netflix animated series “We the People,” winning a Children’s and Family Emmy.

In 2023, H.E.R. starred in “The Color Purple” adaptation, produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg. She also appeared as a guest performer at the Super Bowl halftime show with Usher in February.

Los Angeles will host the Olympics for the third time, with previous Games held there in 1984 and 1932. It will be the city’s inaugural hosting of the Paralympics.
