Groundbreaking for Covered RV Storage Set for Next Month, Opening This Fall

Carefree Covered RV Storage is set to break ground on its latest facility in Maricopa, Arizona, tackling the growing need for RV storage solutions in the area. The site, located at the southeast corner of Loma Road and Estrella Parkway, is scheduled for construction to commence next month.

The company anticipates that customers will have access to the facility by October. This development marks a significant milestone, as it is the first among several planned expansions for the organization in over a year. Approval for this large vehicle storage facility was granted by the Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission in June 2023.

Spanning 11 acres, the new facility will provide covered parking for up to 512 RVs. Additionally, it will feature wash bays, a dump station, and on-site security for peace of mind. Barry Raber, president of parent company Business Property Trust, highlighted the pressing need for such amenities, stating that Maricopa currently lacks sufficient RV storage options. The nearest comparable facility is located approximately 15 miles away in Chandler.

With the region’s increasing popularity for RV enthusiasts, this facility aims to meet a “serious unmet demand for covered RV storage,” as noted by Raber. The upcoming establishment aligns perfectly with the growth trajectory of RV ownership in Arizona.
