Gravel Truck Spill Disrupts Traffic on SR 347 Southbound

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is currently managing a significant gravel spill on the southbound lanes of State Route 347, near Casa Blanca Road. The incident was first reported around 10 a.m. on October 14, 2024, and cleanup efforts are ongoing.

By 1 p.m., ADOT crews were still working to clear the roadway. Traffic was temporarily halted in the southbound direction to facilitate the debris removal process. An ADOT spokesperson confirmed at 12:24 p.m. that the left lane has since reopened to vehicles.

Motorists faced delays, with reports indicating a backup that extended up to half an hour while crews addressed the issue. ADOT’s swift response aims to restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
