Goodyear Owner Reunited with Beloved French Bulldog After Alleged Theft

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A Goodyear family is relieved after the safe return of their French bulldog, Rocky, who was reportedly stolen by a stranger.
Angelique Jaurigue recounted her panic when she discovered Rocky missing. “My other dog was barking, so we came outside, and sure enough, Rocky was gone,” she stated. After searching her yard, desperation set in as she realized the situation was dire.
“I jumped in my vehicle and asked every passerby if they had seen anything,” Jaurigue said. Feeling hopeless, she believed there was little chance of recovering her beloved pet.
Upon contacting Goodyear police, a neighbor provided crucial video footage. The video revealed the suspect taking Rocky directly from her front yard shortly after the theft.
After a week-long investigation, police executed a search warrant, leading to Rocky’s recovery. Jaurigue was overwhelmed with joy upon receiving the news from law enforcement.
“When they called and said, ‘We have your dog,’ I couldn’t believe it,” she recalled. “My kids and I rushed there—I can’t describe the happiness.” The reunion brought tears of joy, as they showered Rocky with affection.
Following a vet visit, Jaurigue confirmed Rocky’s health. “He was microchipped, and we had an AirTag on him,” she explained. However, she criticized the suspect’s lack of proper procedure upon finding Rocky.
Now back home, the family has taken precautions to prevent future incidents. “We’ve reinforced the fence and secured the kennels to keep him safe,” Jaurigue remarked. She also had a direct message for the alleged thief: “I hope they face the consequences they deserve.”
In Arizona, taking a pet is classified as theft under specific conditions that outline the responsibility of anyone who finds lost belongings. The alleged suspect now faces legal ramifications for this act.
