Gonzales & Oldham of PCC Crowned NJCAA Division II All-Americans

Pima Community College celebrates a remarkable achievement in men’s basketball as Cohenj Gonzales and Gabe Oldham earn prestigious accolades from the NJCAA. Gonzales, a sophomore guard, has been named First Team NJCAA Division II All-American, while Oldham, a forward/center, secured a spot on the Second Team. Their selections make them the 12th and 13th All-Americans in Pima’s history; notably, ten of these players have been coached by Brian Peabody.
Gonzales achieved significant honors this season, including ACCAC Division II Player of the Year. A two-time First Team All-ACCAC player, he has consistently delivered strong performances, scoring in double figures in 30 out of 32 games. His season averages include 18.7 points, 4.9 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals while appearing in 35 games, making 35 starts. Remarkably, he became the sixth player under Peabody to surpass 1,000 career points at Pima, finishing with 1,131 total points, ranked fifth all-time in the program.
Gonzales also claimed the Jack Cistriano Best Small Man Award and was honored as a member of the All-NJCAA Division II Tournament Team after averaging 19.0 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in the national tournament.
Oldham’s contributions were equally impressive; he earned all-conference honors twice and maintained a strong presence in the frontcourt. Over his 35 appearances this season, he averaged 12.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, making 34 starts. His defensive skills shone through as he averaged 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks.
In the national tournament, Oldham was named to the All-NJCAA Division II Tournament Team, boasting averages of 15.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks over four games. He recorded 11 double-doubles this season, three of which came during the National Tournament. He finished the season with 417 points and 300 rebounds, contributing to his career totals of 804 points.
Gonzales and Oldham join an elite group of players on the Pima Men’s Basketball NJCAA All-Americans list, which includes notable names such as Dillan Baker and Traivar Jackson. Together, they wrap up their Pima careers with an impressive overall record of 64-7, including a 35-1 mark this season, a program-best 34-game winning streak, and two Region I, Division I Championships alongside a third-place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
