Pinal County Board of Supervisors appointed Patricia Glover of Maricopa as the new Western Pinal Justice of the Peace, filling a vacancy left by Lyle Riggs’ resignation in February. Glover, who ran unopposed in July’s primary election, will officially assume the role three months ahead of schedule, as the board exercised its authority to make the appointment.

Glover began transitioning into her new role at the justice office located at 19955 N. Wilson Ave. in Maricopa. She is set to serve until 2028. During the swearing-in ceremony, conducted by clerk of the board Natasha Kennedy, Glover was accompanied by her husband, Christian, and presiding Justice of the Peace Shaun Babeu, who expressed pride in her achievement.

Glover brings 19 years of legal experience to her new position, having started as a paralegal. She founded Glover Court Solutions & Estate Planning, the only licensed practice of its kind in Maricopa, aimed at assisting individuals unable to afford an attorney. While she will need to recuse herself from the business during her tenure on the bench, her husband will manage operations in her absence.

With a focus on improving access to the legal system, Glover aims to leverage her legal expertise to benefit those who cannot afford representation in the JP court system. Despite taking a pay cut—approximately $107,000 annually, according to county records—she believes her technological and business skills will enhance her capabilities as a justice of the peace.
