Several roads in Gilbert restricted for parade, races

GILBERT, Ariz. — The Gilbert Days Parade and Half Marathon events are set for Saturday, prompting several road closures throughout the area. Drivers should be aware of the restrictions as both festivities begin early in the day.

The parade starts at 8:30 a.m. from the Gilbert Heritage District, featuring 75 floats and various entries. To accommodate the celebration, Gilbert Road will be closed from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m., specifically between Guadalupe and Elliot Roads.

In addition to the parade, the Gilbert Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K races will take place. These races bring their own set of road closures, capturing the attention of participants and spectators alike. Recker Road will experience several closures: from Elliot to Warner Roads from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; from Warner to Ray Roads from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m.; from Ray to Williams Field Roads from 6 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.; and closing at Williams Field Road until 11 a.m.
