‘Full House’ Star Dave Coulier Triumphs: He’s Cancer-Free!

Dave Coulier, known for his role as Uncle Joey on the iconic TV show “Full House,” announced on Tuesday that he is now cancer-free after undergoing nearly six months of intensive treatment for stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Coulier received his diagnosis in November and described it as “the most aggressive kind” of lymphoma. His treatment regimen included six rounds of chemotherapy, during which he faced significant health challenges, including a hospitalization due to a compromised immune system after catching a cold.
He illustrated the gravity of his condition by sharing an anecdote about his hospitalization, stating, “I was in the hospital for four days. My doctors told me ‘if you would have waited another 48 hours, you would’ve been in a real battle, and we might not have been able to turn this around.'” This experience served as a stark reminder of life’s unpredictability.
In his conversation with Good Morning America, Coulier expressed his relief at completing chemotherapy, a treatment known for its harsh effects on the body. “Life is short and sweet, and very fickle,” he reflected. “You can be here one day and gone the next. I think that becomes very clear when you go through something like this.”
Coulier’s “Full House” co-stars took to social media to celebrate his recovery. Candace Cameron Bure, who portrayed D.J. Tanner, shared her excitement, urging fans to shower Coulier with love. John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse, expressed his joy and admiration for Coulier’s tenacity, calling him a fighter with heart and humor.
The bond among the “Full House” cast has deepened, especially following the passing of fellow star Bob Saget. Stamos remarked on the close-knit nature of their relationships, noting, “My ‘Full House’ family is so beautiful; we check in on each other and truly care for one another.” When reflecting on Saget, Coulier humorously described him as a “mother hen” who would have kept him on his toes throughout his battle with cancer.
Looking ahead, Coulier is not only celebrating his health but also working on new projects. He plans to launch a line of all-natural and sustainable clothing, foods, and personal hygiene products later this year. Additionally, he’s committed to advocating for regular cancer screenings, emphasizing the importance of preventive health measures such as breast exams, colonoscopies, and prostate exams.
