Frontier Airlines Flight Lands in Emergency After Engine Fire Sparks Investigation
LAS VEGAS — A Frontier Airlines emergency landing is under federal investigation following a tense incident this past Saturday. Frontier Flight 1326, which was en route from San Diego, declared an emergency as it approached Harry Reid International Airport.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the crew reported smoke in the cockpit shortly before landing. Upon touchdown, airport emergency crews promptly extinguished a fire that had ignited in the aircraft’s right engine.
Eyewitness accounts describe visible flames and smoke billowing from underneath the plane during its descent. Thankfully, all 190 passengers and seven crew members were safely evacuated using the plane’s emergency slides and transported to the terminal without any injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is joining the FAA in the investigation, seeking to determine the cause of the smoke and fire incident. As officials gather more details, the focus remains on understanding what led to this alarming emergency situation.
