Getting drunk on rubbing alcohol goes poorly for frequent convict

A recent incident involving 43-year-old Andres Alonso Ortega has raised concerns about the dangers of excessive consumption of household products. Ortega was reportedly drinking medical-grade, 99% isopropyl alcohol at his parents’ Rancho El Dorado home when a heated argument with his father erupted over his alcohol use.

According to a Maricopa Police Department report, officers were dispatched to the residence after Ortega allegedly began throwing rubbing alcohol around the house. This kind of alcohol is highly flammable, prompting urgent action from law enforcement.

Upon arrival, officers handcuffed Ortega and discovered he had previously been banned from the property. Furthermore, he had outstanding warrants from both Maricopa and Ak-Chin courts. Ortega’s criminal history is extensive, with 21 prior arrests. His record includes charges such as aggravated domestic violence and assaulting a police officer in 2018.

He is now facing additional disorderly conduct charges, which could result in six months of incarceration at the Pinal County jail. This latest incident highlights the potential consequences of misusing household substances, as well as the ongoing challenges posed by Ortega’s criminal behavior.
