Freeze Warnings extended until Monday morning

Frost and freeze warnings are in effect across southern and southeast Arizona, including the valley, extending through Monday morning. Residents should prepare for low temperatures near freezing, especially overnight.

Those with outdoor plants and pipes are advised to take precautions such as covering them to prevent damage. Additionally, ensure pets are kept warm indoors during these cold overnight hours.

This chilly weather trend will persist into Monday, with daytime highs expected to remain slightly below normal. For Sunday, lower desert areas will see highs in the lower 60s, while the high country will only reach the 30s and 40s. Flagstaff, for instance, is forecasted to have a high of just 35 degrees with mostly sunny skies.

However, a warming trend is anticipated starting Tuesday. By Wednesday, temperatures in the valley are expected to bounce back into the lower 70s, surpassing the average high for this date in the Phoenix Metro area, which stands at 67 degrees.

Here’s a look at the upcoming seven-day forecast:

SUNDAY: 64/36 Sunny, Freeze Warning

WEDNESDAY: 73/43 Sunny & pleasant

THURSDAY: 74/48 Mostly sunny & breezy
