Forward Momentum Halted for Aztec Fire in Hassayampa River Basin

WICKENBURG, Ariz. — Fire crews have successfully halted the spread of the Aztec Fire, which ignited on June 8 in the Hassayampa River bottom. According to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, the blaze charred approximately 60 acres.
Strong winds fueled the fire’s growth. In response, a coordinated effort was launched, including a task force equipped with engines and two hand crews from Arizona Forestry to support local firefighters.
