Forks Up! Sun Devils Surge 7 Spots to No. 14 in AP Top 25 After Stunning BYU Upset

TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State University (ASU) has made headlines after a noteworthy victory over BYU, propelling them to No. 14 in the latest AP Top 25. This marks the Sun Devils’ impressive rise to the top of the Big 12 Conference standings.
The team’s seven-spot jump from No. 21 is the most significant gain in this week’s rankings. In contrast, Clemson and Iowa State each moved up five places, demonstrating the competitive landscape of college football.
This ranking is ASU’s highest in a decade; the last time they were this high was in 2014 when they reached No. 12 in the final AP poll. Such achievements highlight a remarkable turnaround for the Sun Devils this season.
Amidst this surge, several teams faced setbacks, with No. 25 Army and No. 23 Colorado dropping seven spots. Meanwhile, notable teams like No. 15 Ole Miss and No. 13 Alabama each fell by six spots, indicating the volatile nature of college football rankings.
Looking ahead, ASU will face its archrival, Arizona, in the 98th edition of the Territorial Cup. Scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, the game will be held at Arizona Stadium in Tucson. A victory would secure ASU a place in the Big 12 Championship Game, slated for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
