Flagstaff man sentenced for domestic violence incident

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — John Andrew Walton Eisenbeiss, a 42-year-old resident of Flagstaff, has been sentenced to 13.5 years in prison following a serious domestic violence incident that occurred in June 2022.

On December 9, the Yavapai County court delivered the sentence after Eisenbeiss was found guilty of several charges, including First Degree Burglary and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. These charges stem from an incident where he harassed his ex-girlfriend after their breakup.

The events unfolded on June 17, 2022, when Eisenbeiss visited a bar in Sedona. There, he sent threatening messages and an inappropriate photograph of his ex-girlfriend. After using her credit card to settle his tab, he proceeded to her home.

Upon arrival, Eisenbeiss forcibly entered the property, shouting loudly before physically confronting a bystander who attempted to help. He allegedly choked this individual and threatened him with a handgun.

Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane emphasized the importance of seeking assistance in moments of emotional turmoil. “If you choose to batter a loved one or anyone else in Yavapai County, you will be prosecuted,” McGrane stated, urging those in distress to walk away rather than act violently. He added that had Eisenbeiss done so, he would not now face over a decade in prison.
