First Friday reemerges in Downtown Havasu with various merchants, entertainment

As Lake Havasu City transitions into a new season, an array of regular events is set to return, much to the delight of local residents and visitors alike. Among these, First Friday stands out as a celebrated outdoor gathering in Downtown Havasu, running from September through May on the first Friday of each month.

This lively event invites the community to engage with local artists and creators. Kicking off this Friday, the gathering will draw an influx of visitors from 6 to 9 p.m., transforming McCulloch Boulevard into a vibrant hub filled with live music, food, and a variety of art vendors.

Event organizers highlight that more than 60 Havasu artists and pop-up boutiques will showcase their work. Attendees can explore handmade artwork, vintage items, apparel, pottery, and other unique products. Additionally, applications for street performers are now available online, expanding the talent showcased during the event.

“We encourage everyone to make First Friday a starting point and to continue to explore the great finds of downtown every weekend,” the First Friday team stated. Merchants will be present along the sidewalks, from Querio Drive to Scott Drive, with more offerings from businesses located between Mulberry and Smoketree Avenues.

New this year, the enclosed YardCity venue will offer visitors food, drinks, and live entertainment. Each month, First Friday highlights different artists and shops, with September featuring local photographer Sean Wickenheisser. Visitors can also enjoy the sounds of Texas-based Stout Irish Rock Band, the Blaggards, and dine from La Baja Taco Truck, the featured pop-up restaurant for the month.

Maintaining a free-access policy allows First Friday to foster the cultural landscape of Lake Havasu by connecting locals with downtown happenings. Proceeds from YardCity’s Disco Trailer are channeled back into supporting local artists and enhancing future events. “Each beer poured helps a local artist!” remarked the team, emphasizing the initiative’s role in boosting downtown traffic and economic success.

First Friday will take place each month from September to May, drawing crowds to Downtown Havasu along McCulloch Boulevard North. Mark your calendars for this engaging community event.
