Firefighters Tackle Fierce Northeast Valley Blaze Ignited by Lightning

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A lightning strike from monsoon storms ignited a small brush fire in north Scottsdale Sunday night. The Scottsdale Fire Department reported that the blaze occurred on the 10500 block of Pinnacle Peak Road.
Firefighters successfully halted the fire’s forward progress after it had consumed approximately a quarter of an acre of brush. They are now focusing on completely extinguishing the remaining flames.
There were no injuries reported and traffic continued to flow normally in the area.
