Firefighters Brave Flames to Douse Car Blaze in Meadows

Maricopa Fire and Medical crews responded swiftly to a car fire on West Guilder Avenue in the Maricopa Meadows Community on August 31, 2024. The incident unfolded around 5:08 p.m., following reports of smoke and flames emanating from the vehicle.
According to Monica Williams, a spokesperson for the Maricopa Fire and Medical Department, two individuals were inside the car but managed to escape unharmed. They observed the smoke and fire coming from the engine and exited the vehicle without assistance.
Firefighters utilized 75 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze, which involved a Dodge Charger engulfed in flames. The crews remained on-site until approximately 5:35 p.m. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, no injuries have been reported.
