Fatal Collision on SR347 Claims Life of Pedestrian

A tragic accident occurred on February 20, 2025, involving a pedestrian and a vehicle near mile marker 178 on State Route 347. Authorities have confirmed the incident resulted in a fatality.

As the investigation continues, northbound traffic on SR 347 remains closed, while southbound lanes were briefly halted but have since reopened. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has directed northbound vehicles onto the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, allowing access to Interstate 10.

Maricopa Police have implemented additional road closures, specifically blocking northbound John Wayne Parkway at Lakeview Drive to facilitate the investigation. Detours have been established for drivers heading towards Phoenix.
