'She suffered': Family of Glendale stabbing victim asks public to come forward with info


GLENDALE, Ariz. — Authorities are searching for the individual responsible for the fatal stabbing of 62-year-old Judy Lopez on April 27, close to State Farm Stadium.

The Glendale Police Department reported Lopez was attacked near the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Cardinals Way while en route to her mother’s house after riding a Valley Metro bus.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Lopez’s family urged the public to assist in identifying her assailant. Her sister described the circumstances surrounding Lopez’s death as “cruel,” emphasizing the pain her family is enduring.

Described as a loving mother of two, Lopez’s family is hopeful that someone with information will come forward. Police have released a surveillance image of a suspect in connection with the case.
