Family and Friends Demand Urgent Action for Justice in Johnny Wactor Murder Case

Family and friends of actor Johnny Wactor are intensifying their calls for justice following his tragic shooting in downtown Los Angeles. Wactor was fatally shot on May 25 while confronting thieves attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle. As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made.
“I’m asking that anybody that knows anything please come forward,” said Scarlett Wactor, his mother, during a news conference outside Los Angeles City Hall. Her plea underscores the family’s desperate need for closure and accountability. “It will help me and his brothers in our healing to know that they’ve been captured and convicted.”
On August 5, police amplified the call for public assistance by releasing surveillance footage of three unidentified suspects and their getaway vehicle, a stolen 2018 black Infiniti Q50. The ongoing investigation aims to gather leads that could bring the culprits to justice.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Wactor was best known for his role as Brando Corbin on the soap opera “General Hospital,” which he portrayed from 2020 to 2022. He also appeared in popular series such as “Station 19,” “NCIS,” and “Westworld.” His untimely death has left a void in both his family and the entertainment community.
According to Scarlett Wactor, her son was leaving work at a rooftop bar when he spotted someone near his vehicle. Mistaking the situation for a tow, he approached, only to be met by gunfire from a masked assailant. “Grief is my constant companion,” she expressed, noting the profound absence she feels with his birthday approaching. “I can’t wish him happy birthday on Aug. 31 — he would have been 38.”
At the news conference, community members urged local officials, including Mayor Karen Bass, to take decisive action against rising crime rates. City Councilman Kevin de León pledged solidarity, vowing, “We will make sure that no family has to endure the pain that Scarlett is enduring today. We want justice for Johnny and we shall have it.”
