Extreme Heat Alert Issued Through Tuesday

Expect daily record high temperatures to continue through Friday.
PHOENIX — The Excessive Heat Warning for the Greater Phoenix Area is now in effect through Tuesday. On Sunday, Phoenix recorded a high of 113 degrees, marking the 13th consecutive record high. This year alone, temperatures have soared to 110 degrees or above a total of 69 times, starkly contrasted by the average high of 93 degrees for this date.
Forecasts indicate that temperatures will remain in the 110 range on Monday and Tuesday, potentially resulting in 18 consecutive days of record heat in the region. Additionally, record highs are expected in Flagstaff, Prescott, Payson, Williams, and Page, with temperatures in those areas reaching the 80s and 90s.
A weak disturbance is expected to bring clouds and slight rain chances to the mountains by midweek. However, substantial heat relief is not anticipated until the third week of October.
