Visit Sentinel crew at the Tucson Festival of Books

The Tucson Festival of Books is set to attract literary enthusiasts to the University of Arizona this weekend, providing a platform for hundreds of authors to engage with the public. The Tucson Sentinel staff will play a significant role in this year’s festivities, participating actively on both Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16.

At the booth, visitors can purchase newly designed Sentinel t-shirts for $24, along with exclusive bookmarks and Watchdog News stickers. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to support the nonprofit newsroom through donations, which will enter them into a drawing for prizes from local restaurants. Participating establishments include Ghini’s French Cafe, Zio Peppe, Rocco’s Little Chicago, and Screwbean.

The event will also feature discussions led by Sentinel staff. On Sunday at 10 a.m., Dylan Smith will moderate a panel titled “How the Internet Turned Darker,” featuring authors such as Kate Conger and Ryan Mac. Meanwhile, Nintzel will lead a Saturday panel at 11:30 a.m. focused on “Our New Status Quo,” addressing the political climate under President Donald Trump.

Throughout the weekend, other authors, including Richard Grant and Zoë Bossiere, will join the festivities, providing diverse insights into various topics. This event promises to be a vibrant gathering for both readers and writers in the Tucson community.
