Exciting Opportunity: Historic Home Grants Up for Grabs!

In mid-August, the City of Phoenix Planning and Development Department’s Historic Preservation Office announced the reopening of grant funds aimed at assisting residents with the rehabilitation of historic homes.
This funding targets exterior renovations for properties located in city-designated historic districts or those individually listed on the historic property register. Eligible homeowners may receive grant funding ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 per project, on a 50/50 matching basis for pre-approved work. As part of the agreement, property owners must commit to selling the city a conservation easement, ensuring the preservation of their home’s exterior historic character.
The deadline for applications is set for Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 5 p.m. Additionally, a virtual grant workshop is scheduled for Thursday, September 12, at 6 p.m. Participants can access the WebEx meeting link via the City of Phoenix Historic Preservation Office website, which will become available approximately 48 hours prior to the event. A recording of the workshop will also be provided online for later viewing.
