Exciting New Trio of Eateries Set to Debut at Esplanade
A trio of dining concepts is set to debut at The Esplanade in early 2025, led by restaurateurs Peter Hearn and Rick Phillips of 151 Hospitality. The establishments include Camello, 151 Tavern, and The Little Pickle, each contributing to a $50 million renovation aimed at transforming the venue into a premier culinary and entertainment destination.
Camello, named after its stunning views of Camelback Mountain, will be a vibrant, chef-driven Mexican restaurant. The expansive 6,000 square foot space will feature a main dining area with live music, a dance floor, and two private dining rooms adaptable for larger gatherings. An al fresco dining option will also be available, alongside a menu focused on inventive shared plates and a diverse selection of cocktails and tequilas.
The existing MercBar will transition into 151 Tavern, which aims to offer upscale comfort food inspired by a classic New York tavern. Diners can expect a menu that includes sushi and raw seafood, complemented by a cocktail program that pays tribute to vintage spirits. The venue will also feature a private speakeasy area suitable for intimate events for up to 14 guests.
The Little Pickle, which previously enjoyed success as a pop-up, is returning with a permanent location. The deli will bring back its beloved breakfast items, including pastrami sandwiches and New York-style bagels, along with a focus on catering services.
Executive Chef Fidencio Alatriste will oversee the culinary direction of these three concepts, ensuring a cohesive dining experience across The Esplanade. The design for the interiors will be crafted by New York-based Volenec Studio.
Located at 2425 E. Camelback Road, The Esplanade is currently hiring for various positions, including line cooks, bartenders, and servers. Interested candidates can find more information at www.151hospitality.com.
