Exciting 3rd Annual Belgian Waffle Ride Returns to Arizona!

The Third Annual Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) Arizona is set to commence, marking the first event in the Quad-Tripel Crown of Gravel series. Dubbed the “Hell of the North Desert,” this unique cycling experience aims to challenge participants in an extraordinary desert and mountain setting. With only 1,500 spots available, potential riders are encouraged to register early.

This year’s BWR Arizona exemplifies the event’s signature elements: a dream location, diverse terrain, and a robust cycling community. Starting and finishing at Stagecoach Village, participants will navigate the stunning Sonoran Desert, known for its favorable climate and scenic routes. The backdrop of the rugged foothills of North Scottsdale serves as an ideal stage, combining history, culture, and natural beauty.

Riders will experience a variety of landscapes, from lush riparian zones along the Salt River to the striking foothills of the McDowell Mountains. The course, measuring approximately 122 miles, features a mix of challenging elevations and pristine tarmac, including steep climbs and technical unpaved routes. As spring arrives, the terrain transforms with vibrant wildflowers and mild temperatures, enhancing the riding experience.

Cave Creek’s course weaves through diverse environments, incorporating the challenging roads of Carefree, Tonto Forest mountains, and scenic single-tracks at McDowell Mountain Regional Park.
