Estrella Gin’s 10-building expansion said to be a ‘cost-effective option’ for small biz

New development is set to resume at Estrella Gin Business Park in Maricopa after several years of inaction. Recent documents shared with InMaricopa indicate that ten additional buildings will be constructed at the northwest corner of Edison Road and Estrella Parkway.

This mixed-use commercial project is designed to accommodate a total of 82 units comprising 22 retail shops and 60 office or storage spaces. According to the project narrative, it aims to provide a more accessible and cost-effective solution for local small businesses.

Proposed tenants for the space include boutique retailers, artisans with showrooms, small contractors, and operations focused on light manufacturing or warehousing. The Estrella Gin Business Park, spanning 70 acres, has been in development discussions since at least 2012, with previous attempts by Salt Lake City’s Boyer Group to attract businesses facing challenges due to high prices.

While the recent documents do not identify a specific developer, Shane Cook remains listed as the realtor associated with the preliminary site plan. The design by Robert Klob Designs adds credibility as Klob currently serves on the Planning and Zoning boards for both Pinal County and Maricopa.

Before construction can begin, the proposal must undergo reviews by city staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission, ultimately requiring approval from the Maricopa City Council. A timeline for these approvals has yet to be determined.
