Element Fire Near Kingman Reaches 31% Containment Progress

Element Fire northwest of Kingman now 31% contained


The Element Fire, which ignited from a lightning strike on August 6, has currently been contained to 5,364 acres, situated approximately 12 miles northwest of Kingman. Fire crews have successfully increased the containment level to 31%, marking a significant step forward in managing the blaze.

The Bureau of Land Management reported that 166 personnel are actively engaged in suppression efforts, supported by engines, water tenders, and a helicopter.

Residents in the Vock Canyon area remain on high alert, as several properties are designated in “Ready” status in anticipation of potential evacuation orders. Fire managers are urging the public to steer clear of the affected region to facilitate access for firefighting teams.

As of Monday morning, fire crews are focusing on hotspots located in the northwest corner of the fire. The agency indicated that monitoring will continue as the demobilization process initiates today.
