Elderly Woman Saved from Submerged Car in Village Lake

An elderly woman was rescued after her vehicle plunged into a community lake on Wednesday. The incident occurred at The Villages at Rancho El Dorado around 10:20 a.m.

Local police and fire crews quickly responded to the emergency. Reports suggest the woman may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash, according to city spokesperson Monica Williams.

Williams stated, “She was stable when transported.” Eyewitnesses recounted the rescue, noting that a security guard and a resident assisted in getting her out of the water. One witness remarked that the car was “completely submerged.”
