Elderly Man Fights for Life After Devastating Phoenix Apartment Blaze

PHOENIX — An elderly man is critically injured following an apartment fire in north Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
The fire broke out near Cactus Road and Tatum Boulevard at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke billowing from the second story of the apartment complex.
During their efforts to extinguish the flames, crews discovered the man trapped inside. He was promptly rescued and transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with fire investigators currently on the scene. Fortunately, no firefighters sustained injuries during the incident.
