Duet: Partners In Health & Aging is set to host its Fall Family Caregiver Virtual Symposium on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 9-11:30 a.m. This event aims to support family caregivers by offering essential insights and strategies relevant to their roles.

Registration for the virtual symposium is now open and free for family caregivers, while caregiving professionals can attend for a fee of $15. Participants will gain knowledge on resilience, self-care, and effective methods to handle family conflicts. The event will be moderated by Jayme West from KTAR.

The symposium features prominent speakers including Dr. Frances Marcus Lewis, an esteemed professor and researcher at the University of Washington Medical Center, and Amy Cameron O’Rourke, a seasoned expert with over 40 years in caregiving. Dr. Lewis will discuss the nuances of caregiving relationships, focusing on building resilience and compassion in her presentation, “Taking Care: Walking the Caregiver Journey with Light and Love.” O’Rourke will share expertise in her talk titled “The Fragile Years,” addressing how to effectively care for aging loved ones and manage conflict within families.
