Drunken Driver Crashes Through Fence Directly Outside Sheriff’s Office: Police Reveal Shocking Incident
MARICOPA — The Maricopa Police Department is conducting an investigation into a drunk-driving incident that resulted in an arrest over the weekend.
The collision occurred around 2:45 p.m. in front of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office on Wilson Avenue, within the Heritage District.
Witnesses reported seeing 25-year-old Cody Fowler slumped in his car with his head down and hands off the steering wheel. His vehicle crashed through a fence before coming to a stop in a nearby ditch. After the accident, Fowler allegedly fled the scene.
Upon arrival, police found Fowler walking away from the area. Officers discovered an empty vodka bottle and THC vape cartridges in his possession. They noted detecting a faint smell of alcohol coming from him.
Fowler has been arrested and faces charges of aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of a collision, which could lead to up to four months in jail and a $4,000 fine if convicted.
Court records reveal that this incident marks Fowler’s 16th arrest in Arizona since 2020, with many of these offenses linked to driving violations.
