Driver Sentenced to 16 Years for Fatal San Tan Valley Crash Killing Father and Son

The 32-year-old defendant had pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — A 32-year-old man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for killing a father and son in San Tan Valley last summer.
Dillon Shifflett was sentenced this week in Pinal County Superior Court after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter for a deadly crash reported near Gary Road and Hunt Highway in June 2023.
A father and son, aged 56 and 23, were killed in the two-vehicle crash.
The Pinal County Attorney’s Office said Shifflett had a blood alcohol content of 0.116 and was driving well over the speed limit of 35 mph.
The defendant will be placed on supervised probation for seven years after he completes his prison sentence.
