DPS: One Arrested, One Hospitalized in Corvette Collision

A C7 Corvette collided with the Cobblestone Farms monument sign late Saturday night, resulting in a hospitalization and a significant scene near John Wayne Parkway and Cobblestone Farms Drive South.

The crash occurred just before midnight, leaving the white sports car heavily damaged with deployed airbags. Emergency responders, including an unmarked Arizona Department of Public Safety State Trooper, and multiple units from the Maricopa police and fire departments, arrived promptly on the scene.

According to an AZDPS spokesperson, the state trooper attempted to initiate a stop after the vehicle failed to yield, although the specific reason remains unclear. The driver was later seen seated on the curb before being assisted to a stretcher and transported by ambulance.

The spokesperson confirmed that the driver was detained, but no further details have been released as the investigation continues. Fire crews departed shortly after their arrival, and photos were taken by the state trooper to document the incident.
